Despite all the economic and political uncertainty during 2016, UK software and IT services (SITS) merger and acquisition activity set a new record in 2016, surpassing the previous record set in 2014. According to data from corporate finance firm, Regent Partners, there was increased domestic M&A activity, boosted by increased demand for UK SITS companies from overseas and particularly North American buyers.
