With 40 years in the IT industry, Anthony Miller is best known as an accomplished analyst and entertaining commentator on the UK software and IT services market.

Anthony joined IBM UK after studying Electronic Engineering at Southampton University. At IBM he worked with clients across many industry sectors as a technical consultant before emigrating to Australia in the late ‘70’s. Anthony held various management positions with IBM in Sydney and Tokyo, where he was ultimately responsible for IBM’s enterprise systems product management throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Anthony left IBM in 1992 to join IDC, where he devised and launched what has since become one of the region’s leading CIO networks. Anthony returned to the UK in 1994, where he was appointed UK Research Manager with a special emphasis on IT services.

Anthony joined Richard Holway Ltd in 1997 (as employee #2!) and helped build the business until it was acquired by Ovum at the end of 2000. Anthony continued to manage what became Ovum Holway for another four years. In 2004 Anthony left Ovum to become a partner in equity research firm Arete, advising institutional investors and hedge fund managers on the investment potential for leading UK, European and Indian software and IT services firms.

Anthony joined forces once again with Richard Holway in October 2008 to launch UK IT research boutique TechMarketView, where he is managing partner.

Anthony is also a Board Member of UK hi-tech industry association Intellect.
