Accenture Applied Intelligence enlists Indian gurus

LogoAccenture’s acquisitive Applied Intelligence unit, which boasts 20k professionals worldwide, has bought India-based automated insights and big data analytics company Byte Prophecy. The move is hoped to better position Accenture to compete for the growing demand for enterprise-scale AI and digital analytics solutions across the region. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Founded in 2011, Ahmedabad- HQ’d Byte Prophecy has worked closely with Accenture Ventures since 2018 on open innovation efforts, collaborating with Accenture and its clients in Asia Pacific on advanced data and analytics projects. The acquisition will add nearly 50 data science and data engineering experts, with a particular focus on insight automation.

To beef up both its services portfolio and its world-wide capabilities, Accenture Applied Intelligence has been on somewhat of a global shopping spree of late. Over the past nine months, the business has snapped up Clarity Insights in the US, Pragsis Bidoop in Spain, Analytics8 in Australia and, three months ago, London-based Mudano (see here). One suspects that this unit is yet to sate its acquisitive appetite.
