Civica secures new deal with Gloucestershire NHS Trust

Civica logoCivica has continued its recent success in the healthcare sector, securing a new five-year partnership with Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. The deal will see the Trust’s 5,800 staff use Civica’s cloud-based electronic document records management software (EDRMS) Cito, plus the digitisation of 300,000 paper health records, to create a single joined up view of patient records.

GHC was formed in October 2019 to provide integrated mental health, physical health and learning disability services in Gloucestershire. The contract means clinicians at the trust will now be able to receive instant access to vital patient information, including larger documents, photos and videos which were previously inaccessible from its electronic patient record (EPR) systems. Cito will run alongside and integrate with GHC’s main EPR systems and the Gloucestershire ‘Joining Up Your Information’ shared care record.

As health and care systems across the UK move forward with an integrated care agenda and adopt a cloud-first strategy, we anticipate growing demand for a variety of systems that support more joined up integrated care (see our UK Health Supplier & Market Analysis). Civica’s healthcare business is growing as result with FY20 revenues from the sector of over £40m according to our estimates. Other notable recent contracts for the supplier include: Betsi Cadwaladr University Health BoardGreater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust; and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
