Investors get the message to fund Worldr’s secure comms platform

logoHow I hate meaningless marketing mumbo-jumbo like, “... allows organisations to withstand volatility and uncertainty now and in the future.” Or “We believe that Data Sovereignty is paramount”. Such gumph detracts from what might actually be a useful product with a differentiated approach to a business problem. Or perhaps it’s to mask the fact that it isn’t!

I refer to London-based start-up, Worldr, which has developed a ‘secure’ enterprise communications platform which can provide encrypted messaging of itself or as a ‘wrapper’ for Microsoft Teams (if you join the waitlist). And I think that’s it!

Founded in 2019, Worldr has raised $3m in a seed funding round led by IQ Capital and Playfair Capital with various ‘cyber’ angels also in the mix.

Look, maybe Worldr really has great technology and does the job better than established competitors. But I feel it does itself no favours with its own ‘messaging’.
