Bath Spa University selects TechnologyOne

TechnologyOne logoASX-listed enterprise software company TechnologyOne has added Bath Spa University to the list of universities using its OneEducation enterprise platform.

The education institution, which was granted university status in 2005, has its main campus at Newton Park in Somerset. It has approximately 8,500 students and 575 academic staff. The six-year contract will see the institution replace its legacy platform with TechnologyOne’s SaaS solution, with the aim of connecting different business processes and parts of the organisation to provide better management insight.

TechnologyOne has a position of dominance in the Australian higher education market and has been building its strength in the UK. In September it announced the acquisition of Scientia, a leading academic timetabling and scheduling software supplier in the UK (see TechnologyOne prepares for new term with Scientia deal). It has also added UK expertise to the business through the appointment of Professor John Latham (Vice-Chancellor and CEO, Coventry University Group) and Dr Katie Bell (Chief Marketing Officer, UCAS) as senior executive advisors.

TechnologyOne should be able to leverage the market reach provided by Scientia, which is used by c.50% of UK higher education institutions, to build its ERP market share in the sector.
