UK Government ICT strategy: the 'what' to the 'what ifs'

At the end of October, the Cabinet Office published the UK Government ICT Strategic Implementation Plan (SIP), which had previously been scheduled for publication in the summer. Alongside the SIP the Cabinet Office published four sub-strategies focused on Green IT, Cloud Computing, End User Devices, and Capability. It is not TechMarketView’s intention to reiterate all aspects of the publications (you can read them for yourself on the Cabinet Office website). However, here we analyse the savings predictions; identify the key messages we believe ICT suppliers should heed; and give our view on the key risks to successful implementation.
