At the start of 2014 we identified the data driven business as one of the trends for 2014. One of the enablers of this business approach is the combination of BI, Big Data and analytics technologies and how they are used to access complex data sets in order to generate meaningful/actionable output that can be used throughout businesses. We describe these as Data Driven Applications (DDAs). There’s no doubt about organisations becoming more reliant on data, the underlying question we address in this report is whether Big Data driven applications have the potential to become a market disruptor. This research takes a snapshot of the early stage DDA market, its structure, emerging new players, and how suppliers are approaching it.
