When Monitise announced its new business model back in March we said that the company was facing its sternest test. This report looks at the key elements underpinning Monitise’s strategy to provide a mobile banking and payment platform for banks and to create value for banks and retailers as they present targeted offers to end-users. We consider that Monitise is doing many of the right things to succeed, but has to build scale to achieve its goals. To do this it will have to execute flawlessly over the next 3-4 years to reward their shareholders for their patience – and their cash.
