Microsoft and Google Cloud: Operationalising AI/ML

There is little dispute about the importance and potential impact of AI/ML on organisations and the wider economy.  Interest levels from both the public and private sector continue to soar and suppliers are engaged in a fast-paced AI/ML technology stack race. Although adoptiion levels are rising, the challenge suppliers face is supporting customers in their move to the next level: operationalising AI/ML to enable the shift from departmental and discreet use cases, to enterprise scale AI/ML implementations. 

Following Microsoft’s October 2019 Future Decoded event, and sessions with Google Cloud during October and the Google Next event in November, we were able to compare and contrast their respective approaches to AI/ML, analysing what they are doing to help customers bring the technology into widespread operational deployment. We anticipate carrying out a similar analysis on Amazon Web Services (AWS) following its December 2019 re:Invent conference.
