London HQ’d Enterprise Architecture tools specialists, Orbus Software has been acquired by SilverTree Equity, a private equity firm focused on software and technology businesses. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Founded in the UK in 2004, Orbus has developed into a global business with a worldwide customer base of some 550 organisations. Today 45% of Orbus’ clients are in EMEA, 35% are in North America and 20% are in the Asia-Pacific. Users of its software, which integrates to Microsoft’s Office 365 Ecosystem and Azure as well as other applications, include AstraZeneca, IKEA, Kelloggs, Dell, Mastercard, Rio Tinto, Schroders and Saab. Last year the company both added over 100 new customers and achieved a more than doubling of its SaaS revenues.
The existing Orbus management team will remain in place following the acquisition. The company’s advisory board will, however, be bolstered by a number of new members including Adam Hale, former CEO of Fairsail and Chairman of the ScaleUp Institute, Vin Murria OBE, the founder of Advanced Computer Software plc, and Matt Harris, former partner at KPMG and FTI Consulting.
