Accenture CEO Sweet takes the Chair

Accenture logoTwo years to the day after Julie Sweet became Accenture’s CEO, she will take on the additional position of Chair of the Board, effective 1st September 2021. She will succeed David Rowland, who is retiring after 39 years with Accenture, including 11 years on the Global Management Committee. Rowland held the position of interim CEO prior to the appointment of Sweet, stepping into the role when former CEO Pierre Nanterme passed away. Prior to that he was CFO for six years.

In announcing Sweet’s appointment, Accenture highlights Sweet’s achievements over the last two years, from establishing the company’ new growth model, through to leading the company through the COVID-19 pandemic, and strengthening commitments to sustainability and equality for all (see Accenture rewards employees after strong H1 performance).
