Metaview raises $35m to support AI-powered recruitment

LogoLondon-based AI startup Metaview has raised $35m in Series B funding to accelerate its mission of revolutionising corporate recruitment through AI. The round was led by Google Ventures, with participation from existing investors including Plural, Vertex Ventures, Seedcamp, Coelius Capital, and True Equity.

Founded in 2018 by former Uber and Palantir executives Siadhal Magos (CEO) and Shahriar Tajbakhsh (CTO), Metaview platform serves as an AI-powered assistant that automatically captures, analyses, and structures interview notes, enabling recruiting teams to make more informed decisions whilst reducing administrative burden. Metaview says it has processed more than three million interviews to date with over 2,500 customers across industries including Sony, Brex, Deel, ElevenLabs, and Deliveroo.

Metaview's flagship product acts as an AI scribe for recruiting, automatically generating detailed interview notes, insights, and reports that are purpose-built for the hiring process. The platform integrates with existing applicant tracking systems, scheduling tools, and video conferencing platforms. According to Metaview its suite of AI agents saves recruiters 30 minutes after every interview and up to two hours per job posting. The platform's AI tools also extend beyond note-taking to include customisable reporting for optimising hiring funnels and an always-on assistant that delivers instant answers about candidates and job requirements.

The fresh funding will enable Metaview to expand its full suite of AI tools, hire additional staff at its London headquarters, and strengthen its presence in San Francisco. The latest funding round follows an earlier $7m Series A in March 2024.

In our report AI Impact: Back office operations, we covered a number of AI solutions that can help boost the productivity of roles such as Legal, HR and Accounting. However, we only scratched the surface of the numerous task specific AI solutions that have emerged over the past few years. Whilst generic tools like Microsoft Copilot can do a lot of general note taking, summarising ect.., more tailored solutions like that from Metaview are where the industry is increasingly heading, often providing a better ROI due to improved application integrations and customised interfaces.
