Healthcare technology business, Induction, is helping Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFL) transform its services through the application of its patient portal solution.
The AIM-listed company has delivered the My RFL Care patient portal as the first phase of RFL’s roadmap to transform digital patient services over the next two years. The portal utilises Induction Zesty's app-based technology, which is designed to empower patients to manage their own care.
The My RFL Care portal provides a range of functions, including appointment and records management, access to patient’s letters, and directions to the Trust's hospitals and community sites. It launched in August 2020 and within the first few months 50,000 patients had registered and were using the service; 250,000 patients are expected to adopt the service in the first year.
Induction was founded in February 2019 and acquired Zesty in June 2020 as part of its buy-and-build strategy. It achieved revenue of £582,000 in the six months ended 30 September 2020 and has a strong pipeline of orders (see Induction Healthcare makes good progress in H1). It is well placed to benefit from the need to improve efficiency and streamline care in the NHS and the RFL partnership will represent an important case study for future opportunities.
