UK-based cloud, connectivity, comms, and cyber solutions supplier Exponential-e has been awarded a managed service provider contract by Havant Borough Council. The three-year deal will see Exponential-e migrate the council’s IT systems to Microsoft Azure, and modernise its network, security, and end-user services.
Data sovereignty was a key consideration for Havant, with a requirement that its data be hosted in the UK (and so the solution is based on a Dedicated Infrastructure as a Service architecture, with Dedicated Firewall Service, Managed LAN and Wi-Fi Services – all wholly owned by the council, managed and supported by Exponential-e).
Exponential-e will also upgrade and manage the council’s 680+ PC and end-user devices, and provide a fully managed service desk function.
Capita’s nine-year IT infrastructure and security shared service contract for Havant (alongside South Oxfordshire, Vale of White Horse, Hart, and Mendip District Councils – see More districts poised to join Capita’s shared service – is due expire in September this year. Implementation with Exponential-e started in May 2025, with go-live scheduled for July to provide a period of overlap before the incumbent contract expires.
