Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council has renewed its contract with System C (under the YPO Framework for Health and Social Care Systems, Lot 12) for its Liquidlogic Children’s Case Management System, in a deal worth £1.1m.
The system is designed to provide a rich source of data, as well as ensuring the council meets its statutory requirements for service delivery – integrating with key data partners (such as the NHS and Police) to support the development of strategic intelligence sharing amongst stakeholders.
Wigan Council is the local authority of the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan in Greater Manchester, and has been a member of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority since 2011. It renewed a long-tern ICT managed services contract with Agilisys in February last year (see Wigan Council excited by Agilisys GenAI innovation), covering a service transformation period which will see the borough look identify where it can re-imagine service delivery through the use of GenAI technology – though it’s unclear to what extent the council is currently planning any major overhaul of how social care services are delivered, as part of this transformation.
Whilst the Wigan contract is a renewal, speaking on the publication of System C’s FY24 results last December (see System C's strategic evolution continues), the company’s CEO Nick Wilson said that he saw opportunity for Liquidlogic to make further inroads in the social care sector, as local authorities look to make further efficiency improvements following the Autumn Budget.
