TechMarketView In The Press

TMV logo

2014 has got off to a flying start here at TechMarketView with our analysts being regularly called upon to provide their expert opinion by the media (as well as clients!). The last quarter of 2013 was also a particularly busy time for the team with the launch of our latest research stream, FinancialServicesViews generating a lot of media coverage. Here’s just some of what the press had to say:

Already this year TechMarketView chairman Richard Holway has been quoted for his opinion on Google’s acquisition of Nest in The Telegraph article What is Nest and why has Google bought it?. Richard also proffers his thoughts on Windows 8 in The Times article Microsoft on the threshold of deleting ‘appalling’ Windows 8. Elsewhere in The Times Richard was quoted on social platforms in Investors line up for a taste of Twitter – minus the spam and on the latest Apple acquisition in Apple buys 3D sensing company PrimeSense for $350m. In the Financial Times article Aim-quoted tech group chiefs fall behind in remuneration race, Richard talks on UK technology entrepreneurs. While in The Independent Richard gives his views on BlackBerry’s fortunes in BlackBerry looks East to revive its fortunes after posting huge loss.

Also in the Financial Times BusinessProcessViews research director, John O’Brien’s analysis of the Innovation Group is covered in Innovation Group hopes to ride wave of telematics interest; our software and application services expert, Angela Eager, shares her views on Big Data in Fusionex profits rise shows appeal of big data; and PublicSectorViews director Tola Sargeant analyses Servelec’s healthcare prospects in Servelec IPO is UK’s biggest tech float in three years.

FinancialServiesViews research director, Peter Roe, is also already being quoted widely. Peter is, for example, quoted in Forbes on JP Morgan, Deutsche: Bank Instant Messaging Headache Gets Worse; in the Financial Times in Sage shares climb as shift to cloud and mobile gains pace and in ComputerWorldUK in Banks bet on cloud as IT budgets ease, report claims for his key Market Trends and Forecasts 2013/2014 report. Clearly the financial services sector is a market worth watching!

But perhaps the funniest quote at the tail end of 2013 was Richard’s in The Times on Sony’s hair raising SmartWig in Toupee or not? Sony answers the question. News of Sony’s patent for the SmartWig was also picked up by the VoiceOfRussia, in which Richard gave an interview on the subject: Japanese unveil 'wig-fi' - portable, wearable technology.

Of course there has been plenty of coverage of the TechMarketView team in the trade press too – too much to mention it all here. And with the hotly anticipated Predictions report published last week and a packed research agenda for the year ahead, look out for further comment from the TechMarketView team in 2014!
