Highest UK SITS M&A activity for 7 years

There was a strong increase in UK software and IT services (SITS) merger and acquisition activity in 2013 to the highest level for seven years.

According to data from corporate finance firm, Regent Partners, M&A activity had been steadily decreasing as 2012 progressed but 2013 started well and improved throughout the year. The third quarter was particularly strong, resulting in a very good second half. There were 340 buy-side and 382 sell side transactions involving UK SITS companies in 2013, up 18% and 13% respectively over 2012.
