BT teams to join up health and care

We were interested to see today’s announcement from BT , which has signed agreements with three ‘best of breed’ suppliers – Harris, InterSystems and Healthcare Gateway (the JV between EMIS and InPS) – to offer “interoperability solutions which provide a joined up view of a patient’s care”. The offering allows health and social care organisations, subject to information governance restrictions, to share information held about a patient across various IT systems in a single place using their existing infrastructure.  It will also mean patients can access their own records to see test results, schedule appointments or communicate directly with their clinicians.
