New Financials Services Research: Taking the Initiative: The Supplier Perspective

picThe Financial Services sector is undergoing substantial change, as discussed in the recently published report entitled “Taking the Initiative: Leading with Technology in Financial Services”, co-authored by techUK and TechMarketView.

We have expanded the themes discussed in the techUK report and in Taking the Initiative: The Supplier Perspective (available through this link) we examine the key implications of these changes for the UK Software and IT Services supplier community. Here, FinancialServicesViews considers the questions as to whether the faster dynamic in some parts of the financial services sector towards rationalisation and growth will result in higher external spend and whether the customers’ attitude towards suppliers, partnerships and utilities will change. We also ask if the financial services sector incumbents are moving fast enough in the face of increasing competition, and what suppliers need to do about it. We also discuss how major purchasers such as RBS and HSBC are reacting to the pressures on them to change and how this will affect their relationship with suppliers.

This report should provide useful advice for companies active in the most dynamic vertical in terms of Software and IT Services and where new and increasing demands are being placed on both Financial Services providers and their key technology suppliers.
