Acquia to Widen its offer

AcquiaAcquia, an open-source digital experience platform, has agreed to acquire Widen a marketing technology company specialising in digital asset and product information management software.

Acquia will be looking to use the acquisition to expand its managed web applications with customers being able to add content such as images, videos, PDFs to their digital customer experience. Widen’s software allows brands to better manage digital assets with product information, designed to make it easier to deliver and access marketing and product content. 

Acquia is promising to invest in Widen R&D to speed up product innovation as well as making its products available through its partner base. Widen has more than 700 customers, including brands such as Autodesk, Boston Ballet, Carnival Cruise Line, Crayola, Energizer, Hootsuite, New Balance, Progressive and the University of Georgia. The software firm has 135 employees, most of whom are in Madison, Wisconsin and in London.
