Interview with Dominik Birgelen, Founder & CEO, oneclick™

logoI recently caught up withmanagement at oneclick™, the self-styled ‘Everything-as-a-Service’ platform developer. oneclick™  was one of the innovative partners selected last year by Sopra Steria through the TechMarketView Innovation Partner Programme (see TechMarketView helps Sopra Steria UK partner up for innovation).

Founded in 2016 by CEO Dominik Birgelen and headquartered in Zurich, oneclick™ is a cloud-based platform capable of managing the entire technology stack for application provisioning via a web portal. While mainly targeted at managed service providers, cloud services suppliers and software companies, oneclick™ is also building a formidable presence in large commercial enterprises.

Demand for oneclick™ surged during the COVID-19 lockdown as businesses rushed to transition their applications to the cloud so that employees could work from home. To meet this demand, oneclick™ created a set of turnkey package solutions in partnership with several well known cloud providers and Hypervisors based on its VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) technology.

Here in the UK, Sage Business Partners Qmulus and Price Bailey IT (now Smith Coopers) are providing clients access to their Sage 200 environment through a oneclick™ turnkey VDI platform. oneclick™ is now implemented at over 800 organisations across Europe delivering turnkey VDI solutions in partnership with telecom services providers 1&1 IONOS and Orange Business Services. oneclick™ is also registered on the UK government’s Digital Marketplace and is and marketed to UK Central Government clients through channel partners.

Birgelen makes it no secret that oneclick™ is out to challenge Citrix as the enterprise VDI platform of choice. He thinks oneclick’s cloud-based ‘no software downloads required’ implementation will be particularly attractive to hard-pressed CIOs managing the complexities of a distributed workforce.

Birgelen also believes oneclick™ has a defining role to play as businesses restart digital transformation programmes curtailed during the pandemic. He sees the ability to move legacy business systems quickly and simply to the cloud as a very attractive proposition for CIOs trying to make up lost time in getting their company’s IT infrastructure fit for digital purpose.
