Sopra Steria partners with Salesforce to enhance PoliceTech

Sopra Steria logoSopra Steria has announced the integration of its STORM Command and Control solution with the Salesforce platform. The move is designed to enhanced the ability for police forces and the wider emergency services community to contact, engage and respond to their local communities.

The partnership fits well with the ambition of the National Policing Digital Strategy to deliver a seamless citizen experience (see National Policing Digital Strategy 2020-2030). It is intended to provide the public with more choice in how they engage with police forces by using the communication channels most relevant to them, be that 999, texts or digital channels. It is also intended to enable forces to connect citizen interaction data across departments and between forces to help enhance intelligence. The partnership also supports the strategy of moving towards more interoperable solutions in policing.

The integration should enable control rooms to have a more accurate understanding of citizens and situations so they can better deliver the most appropriate support and interventions, ultimately improving public safety. It has been developed in partnership with Sopra Steria's public safety customers and with consideration to the European Electronic Communications Code and the company's focus on digital and data ethics (see Sopra Steria: Acting on the importance of Digital Ethics).

With almost two-thirds of territorial forces using the platform, STORM has the majority market share for Command and Control in UK policing. This is an important partnership for both organisations, which will help Sopra Steria take its platform to the next level and significantly expand Saleforce's presence in the sector. There is growing interest in the role CRM can play in policing and this partnership puts Salesforce in a strong position to address this demand.
