UK Software Rankings 2010 show growing impact of SaaS

A pub-quiz question: which software company showed the greatest growth in UK revenues over the last year? The answer perhaps won’t surprise you: Salesforce.com, which we reckon grew its UK revenues by c50% (and worldwide revenues by 21%) – and largely organically. There were six other companies that grew their software revenues in double digits, but acquisitions played a part in most of these – especially ACS, which grew 312% “as reported”, though organic growth across its component parts was more like 4%.

software rankings growthTechMarketView’s newly published UK Software Market Rankings report presents and analyses the UK software sales – licences and support fees – of the major market players and briefly assesses their strengths and weaknesses. The tables show more change and interest for observers than for several years. Despite – or perhaps because of – the economic downturn, there are a number of new names, position changes, and overall diversity of performance across the board. TechMarketView foundation service subscribers can read the whole report here.
