TCS ousting Capita at CRB changes everything

The press has been awash with the news that Indian-HQ’d TCS was in fact the company awarded the new Disclosure and Barring Service BPS contract (formerly Criminal Records Bureau) from incumbent Capita (see Capita loses Criminal Records Bureau contract).

This is clearly a fantastic win for TCS against the UK BPS market leader, even though it is certainly not without risk. For the wider market, the award shows real intent by UK Government to diversify its IT/BPS supplier base as second/third generation deals come up for grabs (see Second generation BPS deals changing hands).
