UK Government ICT strategy: the 'what' to the 'what ifs'

At the end of October, the Cabinet Office published the UK Government ICT Strategic Implementation Plan (SIP), which had previously been scheduled for publication in the summer. Alongside the SIP the department published four sub-strategies focused on Green IT, Cloud Computing, End User Devices, and Capability. We published our initial reaction to the SIP on HotViews. 

The UK Government ICT strategy, published in March 2011 (see New UK Government IT strategy: for real change or to gather dust), focused on the ‘what’ rather than the ‘how’. The Cabinet Office states that the SIP is moving on from the ‘vision’ to understanding what the real outcomes will be and how they intend to get there.

It is not TechMarketView’s intention to reiterate all aspects of the publications (you can read them for yourself on the Cabinet Office website).
