Fortinet’s FY19 performance saw the company make big double-digit gains in both revenue and billings on a global basis, with a temporary blip in UK turnover attributed to election paralysis and Brexit uncertainty failing to dampen the overwhelmingly positive picture in the EMEA (which saw revenue grow 19% year on year), APAC (up 22%) and Americas (up 23%).
The hybrid and multi-cloud emphasis is nothing new, but combining network security and SD-WAN within a single hardware appliance built on custom ASICs has delivered a significant competitive advantage for Fortinet just as rival security hardware companies see that side of their businesses shrink as they transition customers into virtualised solutions.
The company now looks well placed to further expand its IoT, 5G and hybrid cloud security capabilities and service provision through strong channel partnerships and MSSP sales in FY20.
