TechMarketView's regular round-up

TMV LogoA stream of reports has rolled off TechMarketView’s virtual presses over the last couple of weeks proving we haven’t been resting on our laurels over the summer! In the latest PublicSectorViews report, our healthcare IT guru, Tola Sargeant, analyses changes in the UK healthcare SITS supplier landscape and names the Top 20 suppliers to the sector in 2011. Within the Foundation Service, Angela Eager, Research Director for Enterprise Software and Application Services (ESAS), considers the trends shaping the ESAS market as disruptive technologies like cloud, social and mobile undermine traditional business and technology models in ESAS: a new reality, a world of disruption.

In the latest edition of OffshoreViews, our Managing Partner, Anthony Miller, brings you news on who among the ‘Indian majors’ are growing fastest in Europe and in the UK, and shares his views on whether the rankings are likely to change by the year’s end. Then there’s the latest edition of IndustryViews Private Equity, which has our usual summary of the VC and Private Equity activity in the UK software and IT services market over the last quarter. It also includes the stories of ‘accidental’ executives at Centrix Software and Access Technology Group. The quarterly IndustryViews M&A Review is also available for subscribers to download now – as usual, it analyses the latest acquisitions involving UK SITS firms. The Q2 analysis reveals UK buyers opened their wallets more widely in the quarter than they have done in over three years.

In the press, we continue to be quoted on HP’s antics: see for example our Chairman Richard Holway’s views in Computing (Strength in numbers comes at a cost) and Angela’s opinion in Information Age (HP considered Tibco, Teradata before Autonomy). Richard’s thoughts on Steve Jobs’ resignation from Apple also attracted attention (see Analysts upbeat about Apple’s future despite Jobs’ exit in CRN). Meanwhile Angela’s analysis of IBM’s analytics acquisitions (i2 and Algorithmics) was quoted by the likes of Computing (see IBM makes dual analytics acquisitions). Tola’s views on IMS Maxims’ financial woes appear in ComputerWorld (see Supplier of software that holds 10 million patient records in difficulty?). Anthony shared his thoughts on Genpact’s strategy with ComputerWeekly (see Genpact IT strategy signals BPO and IT services consolidation) and his views on Computacenter’s latest results are quoted in Microscope (see Computacenter profits up a quarter despite UK weakness).

The TechMarketView reports and analyst notes mentioned above are available for subscribers to our Foundation and PublicSectorViews services to download now. Subscribers can also access our views on all UK SITS supplier activity via the searchable UKHotViews and UKHotViewsExtra archives. If you’re not yet a paid subscriber and you’d like more details Deborah Seth is the person to contact.
