Two new reports from our public sector team

PSV teamToday, TechMarketView’s Public Sector team launches two new reports for subscribers to our PublicSectorViews service.

The first is our regular review of the UK public sector software and IT services market – UK public sector SITS market trends & forecasts. Following a torrid 2010 for SITS suppliers to the market, our analysis reveals that the UK public sector market will fail to reach positive growth territory in real terms until 2014. However, there will be some exciting hotspots in the market...even if they are fewer and farther between than in previous years. That’s why it has been so important for us to provide more granularity than ever before in our market numbers. We have segmented the market by both subsector (central government, local, government, education, health, police and defence) and by SITS market activity as defined by TechMarketView’s Asset Led Market Model (infrastructure services, application services, business process services and software), as well as combining the two. As such, subscribers will find detailed market size and forecast data, along with detailed analysis of performance and prospects, for each of the UK public sector sub-segments, enabling them to focus effort and investment on the areas of the market with the highest growth potential.

The second report – UK Government ICT Strategy: progress and direction – supports our UK public sector market forecasts. In the report we analyse the different elements of the ICT strategy, identify the progress that has been made and seek to understand how implementation of the strategy will move forward over the coming months and years. We also identify areas of the policy where we believe there has been a subtle change of emphasis. The Efficiency & Reform Group (ER&G) hopes that it can accelerate implementation of the strategy over the coming year. Is that a realistic aim or will the hurdles prove too difficult to jump?
