Last week, TechMarketView attended the InterSystems UK & Ireland Summit in Birmingham. The focus of the event was authentic innovation and not, as keynote speaker David Rowan (founding editor-in-chief of WIRED UK) put it, “innovation theatre” i.e., appearing to be innovative without changing anything.
Chris Norton, Managing Director, UK & Ireland, InterSystems, kicked off the day by talking about the importance of understanding the customer problem businesses are trying to solve and not being technology led. He spoke about the need to put customers and end-users at the heart of the organisation, and about how improving access to real-time data is vital to enhancing innovation efforts.
