*New Research* Atos Tech Foundations: Clarity and focus

Since June 2022, when Atos announced its proposed split (Atos proposes business split: What does it mean?), into Atos (currently being referred to as Tech Foundations) and Eviden, the Tech Foundations side of the business, in particular, has been experiencing something of a rollercoaster.

Corporate announcement after corporate announcement, from changes to the Atos Group governance (New Atos CEO from today: Yves Bernaert | TechMarketView), to the proposed sale of the Tech Foundations business to Czech billionaire, Daniel Kretinsky’s investment vehicle, EPEI (to become a privately owned company – see EPEI to acquire Atos Tech Foundations | TechMarketView), to the appearance of a new anchor investor in the shape of onepoint (Perseverance from Onepoint in Atos Eviden pursuit), have all whipped up media frenzies, resulted in a rocky time for the share price, and heavily distracted from the reshaping and refocusing of the Tech Foundations business.

We now expect the split to be concluded during H1 2024 when the EPEI transaction is predicted to close. We still wait for news of how the EPEI transaction is going to be “modified and simplified”. However, with what feels like a little more stability around the future steady state, Atos’ Tech Foundations business has now upped the ante on its communications related to its portfolio and investment priorities.
