*NEW RESEARCH* Sustainability Predictions 2024

Sustainability Predictions 2024In a landmark agreement, delegates at the UN climate conference COP28 in December 2023 declared that the world should “transition away” from using fossil fuels for energy—calling for measures such as the tripling of renewables capacity and doubling of energy efficiency measures by 2030.

The agreement has focused attention on a number of use case areas of interest, and contributed to a shifting locus of control around environmental matters (encouraging organisations to take more responsibility for the—positive—environmental impact they’re able to achieve by changing behaviours).

As COP28’s renewable energy capacity and energy efficiency targets range out to 2030, with a checkpoint at COP30 in 2025, there are many scenarios which could run their course and affect software and IT services suppliers over the longer term. However, in this Sustainability Predictions 2024 report, we focus on six areas that TechMarketView considers to be the most pressing, and the most likely to affect the UK market in 2024.
